Description
The Model 9299 Absolute Pressure Tank Level System (APTLS) uses absolute pressure transducers, along with Prime Technology's new Smart Tank Level Indicating equipment, to measure tank fluid levels. The advantages of this system over other architectures is its, simplicity, reliability, reduced maintenance, and reduced life cycle costs.
The system's design is such that it can be used in a vented or a
pressurized tank and the transducers can be mounted in or external to
the tank. The combined MTBF for the transducers is >250,000 hours,
which is an improvement over past architectures. This increase in
reliability reduces frequency of the tank sensor's preventative
maintenance.
The Pressure Tank Level System utilizes
two absolute pressure transducers to measure the fluid in the tank--one
transducer is mounted at the top of the tank and measures the pressure
being exerted on the fluid column by the atmospheric pressure, and the
other transducer is mounted at the bottom and measures the pressure of
the fluid column and the atmospheric pressure. The tank level is
proportional to the fluid pressure and the pressure reading is obtained
by taking the difference between the two transducers.
